Swedish Warmbloods

A European breeding program selecting for quality in conformation, temperament and gaits. Known to excel in the sports of Dressage and Jumping, the Swedish Warmblood has also proven himself in driving and out on the trails due to his infallible and stable character.

A Swedish Warmblood is a horse for life!

Here is an informative article, from 2000, by Karl-Henrik Heimdahl DVM, breeding director at Flyinge, regarding the definition of the "new" vs. "old" type of SWB. There are some nice photos and descriptions of important stallions.

Bo Crabo, DVM, PhD, explains the BLUP system in this article from 1998. Although an older document, the explanation is informative.
